The rules of the road

Terms & Conditions

Please read these Terms carefully before using ShantigramCentral.

1. Acceptance

By creating an account, browsing, listing, ordering, or booking on ShantigramCentral ("Platform"), you agree to be bound by these Terms, our Privacy Policy, and our Returns & Refunds Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform. These Terms form a legally binding electronic contract under §10A of the Information Technology Act, 2000.

2. Definitions

  • "Platform" means the ShantigramCentral website, portal, and all related services operated by YantrAdhigam Labs Private Limited.
  • "Vendor" means a KYC-verified resident or shop owner who lists products or services on the Platform.
  • "Customer" means any registered user who browses, orders, or books products and services on the Platform.
  • "Subscription" means the paid monthly plan required for vendors to publish listings on the Platform.
  • "We", "Us", "Our" refers to YantrAdhigam Labs Private Limited, the operator of ShantigramCentral.

3. Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years of age.
  • You must be a resident or registered shop owner within the Shantigram Township, Ahmedabad.
  • Vendors must complete KYC verification: Aadhaar number (12 digits), PAN, at least one supporting document, and GSTIN if the vendor is a shop owner or if their aggregate annual turnover exceeds the applicable GST threshold (currently ₹40 lakh for goods, ₹20 lakh for services under the CGST Act, 2017).
  • All users must verify their email address before accessing the Platform. A verification link will be sent to your registered email during signup.

4. Account registration and verification

  • Email verification is mandatory for both vendors and customers. Your account will not be activated until you click the verification link sent to your email.
  • Vendor registration requires a multi-step process including identity verification (Aadhaar), address confirmation (flat or shop unit), and mobile OTP verification.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials. Any activity under your account is your responsibility.
  • We reserve the right to reject, suspend, or terminate any account at our discretion if we suspect fraudulent or misleading information.

5. Our role as an intermediary

ShantigramCentral is an "intermediary" within the meaning of §2(w) of the IT Act, 2000 and an "e-commerce entity" within the meaning of Rule 3(b) of the Consumer Protection (E-Commerce) Rules, 2020. We provide the technology platform that connects independent vendors with buyers in the Shantigram community. The vendor — not ShantigramCentral — is the seller of the products and services listed on the Platform and is solely responsible for their accuracy, legality, quality, fitness for purpose, pricing, and after-sale support.

6. Vendor subscriptions and payments

  • Free trial: Every newly approved vendor receives a complimentary 60-day free trial period. During this period, vendors can publish listings and receive orders at no cost.
  • Subscription plans: After the trial period, vendors must subscribe to a paid plan to keep their listings published:
    • Resident Vendor Plan: ₹249 per month
    • Shop Vendor Plan: ₹499 per month
  • Payment reminder: We will send a reminder email approximately 10 days before your trial or subscription expires.
  • Auto-renewal: Subscriptions are set to auto-renew by default. You may disable auto-renewal at any time from your portal.
  • Payment gateway: All payments are processed securely through Razorpay. We do not store your payment card or banking credentials.
  • Expiry: If your subscription expires and is not renewed, all your listings will be automatically unpublished and your vendor status will be suspended until you subscribe again.

7. No refund policy

All subscription fees are non-refundable. By subscribing to a plan, you acknowledge and agree that:

  • Cancellation of your subscription takes effect immediately.
  • Your listings will be unpublished upon cancellation.
  • No refund, credit, or pro-rata adjustment will be issued for the remaining unused period.
  • You may re-subscribe at any time to restore your listings.
  • The free trial period does not incur any charges; cancellation during the trial has no financial consequence.

8. Listings and content

  • Vendors warrant that every listing is accurate, lawful, and that they have the right to sell the product or service described.
  • All listings must be approved by our admin team before publication. Listings may be rejected if they violate these Terms.
  • Publishing a listing requires an active subscription (or an active free trial).
  • Vendors must not list counterfeit goods, prohibited items (alcohol, tobacco, narcotics, weapons, prescription drugs, anything restricted under Indian law), adult content, or items violating the intellectual-property rights of others.
  • We reserve the right to remove any listing without prior notice if we believe in good faith that it violates these Terms or applicable law.

9. Orders, bookings, and payments

  • An order is placed when you click "Confirm Order" and is accepted only when the vendor confirms it. Until acceptance, no contract of sale is formed.
  • Payments for products and services are processed by Razorpay or such other payment gateway we may integrate. Payment instrument data is handled exclusively by the gateway, not by us.
  • Invoices are issued by the vendor, on the vendor's GSTIN where applicable, in compliance with §31 of the CGST Act, 2017 and Rule 46 of the CGST Rules. ShantigramCentral generates the invoice on the vendor's behalf as a facilitation service; the legal seller remains the vendor.
  • Vendor payouts are settled to the vendor's verified bank account on the schedule published in the Vendor Guidelines, less any applicable platform commission.

10. Returns and refunds (products and services)

Each vendor sets the return window and replacement policy for their listings, which is displayed on the product detail page. Customer return requests are reviewed and decided by the vendor. ShantigramCentral facilitates the request flow but does not unilaterally approve, reject, or process refunds. See our Returns & Refunds Policy for the full process.

11. User conduct

You agree not to:

  • Use the Platform for any unlawful purpose or to violate any third-party rights.
  • Impersonate another resident, shop owner, or any other person.
  • Post, transmit, or share any content that is defamatory, obscene, hateful, racially or ethnically objectionable, paedophilic, libellous, invasive of privacy, or otherwise objectionable under Rule 3(1)(b) of the IT (Intermediary Guidelines and Digital Media Ethics Code) Rules, 2021.
  • Manipulate ratings, reviews, or any feedback mechanism on the Platform.
  • Reverse-engineer, scrape, deep-link, or reproduce any portion of the Platform without written permission.
  • Upload viruses, worms, or any code intended to damage or disrupt the Platform.
  • Use the Platform to solicit transactions outside the Platform to circumvent fees or policies.

12. Intellectual property

The ShantigramCentral name, logo, design system, software, and arrangement of categories are the exclusive property of YantrAdhigam Labs Private Limited, protected under the Copyright Act, 1957 and the Trade Marks Act, 1999. Vendors retain ownership of their listing photos and descriptions but grant us a non-exclusive, royalty-free, worldwide licence to display, host, cache, and transmit them for the purpose of operating the Platform.

13. Disclaimer of warranties

The Platform is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. To the maximum extent permitted by Indian law, we disclaim all express and implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. We do not warrant uninterrupted, error-free, or secure operation of the Platform.

14. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law and subject to the rights of consumers under the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, our aggregate liability arising out of or relating to the Platform shall not exceed the amount you have paid to ShantigramCentral (excluding amounts paid to vendors) in the twelve months preceding the claim, or ₹1,000, whichever is higher. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under Indian law.

15. Termination

  • You may close your account at any time from the portal security settings.
  • We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, fail KYC verification, engage in fraudulent activity, or conduct that we reasonably consider harmful to the Shantigram community.
  • Upon termination, all your listings are unpublished, and any active subscription is cancelled without refund.
  • Data retention after termination follows the periods described in our Privacy Policy.

16. Governing law and dispute resolution

These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Subject to the consumer-protection rights conferred by §35 of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, all disputes arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in Ahmedabad, Gujarat.

17. Changes to these Terms

We may revise these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email and an on-site banner at least 14 days before the new version takes effect. Continued use of the Platform after that date constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

In compliance with §11 of the IT Act, 2000 and Rule 5(9) of the IT (Reasonable Security Practices) Rules, 2011, our Grievance Officer is:
